Meeting on gender-based violence organised by the United Nations Fund on Population Activities (UNFPA)

On 17 August 2023, Butterfly Cameroon took part in a meeting on GBV organised in the presence of the Deputy Representative of UNFPA. About 28 associations were represented in the meeting hall of the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family (MINPROFF) and the meeting was presided over by the MINPROFF Delegate. The participants discussed their various activities, GBV cases in the Far-North region as well as the way in which associations can apply for calls for expression of interests.

On the issue of women and girls empowerment, it was recommended that advocacies be made with the World Food Programme for fundings. It was also recommended to create spotlines in activity coordination for a better visibility and to conduct activities to reduce child early marriages.
