Butterfly Cameroon Mental Health Ambassadors proudly display their ambassador sashes as a symbol of their commitment.
The training of the Butterfly Cameroon student ambassadors for mental health ended on 11 May 2023 with a full programme of presentations and activities. As a reminder, the mental health clubs aim at fighting against the causes and negative consequences of school failure and violence.
After a first day of training on 10 May, several presentations were made on specific themes by Butterfly Cameroon and its partners.
RAPHAPSY SAHEL presented techniques to help students and teachers better manage stress, addressing the causes, consequences and ways to alleviate stress in its presentation entitled “Managing Stress Better”. Nutrition is also a key component to good mental health, as highlighted by Nutritionniste HRM in his presentation “Mental Health and Nutrition: How Food Influences Our State of Mind and Quality of Life.” In addition, ARDHU addressed the topic of supporting people with mental health issues, addressing the issues and support practices in their presentation “Supporting People with Mental Health Issues”.
After a well-deserved coffee break, Women’s Office representative presented strategies for building individual and collective capacity of youth for peace, social cohesion and mental health.
At the end of the presentations, Butterfly Cameroon administered questionnaires to evaluate the training and collect the participants’ opinions. The training finally ended with the presentation of certificates and sashes by the trainers and the authorities present.
